It is the code name for the battle for the liberation of Carpiquet at the end of July 1944. An unknown, fierce battle between the Canadians coming from Juno Beach and the 12th SS Panzer division entrenched on the airfield with panther tanks.

 

This museum traces this battle which made 700 victims on the perimeter of the airfield alone and which was a lock west of Caen that the 2 camps absolutely wanted to control.

 

You will see one of the rare Canadian Sherman tanks still existing, jeep, etc ... and unpublished iconographic documents on this battle.
